How we check information

Prices

We only show prices that a business publishes itself, or figures from a named, published source. Each figure has a "checked on" date. Prices change, so always confirm with the business before you instruct them.

Businesses

Before we list a business, we aim to check:

• its own website, and any professional register that applies (for example, the Gas Safe Register for gas work)
• Companies House, where it's a limited company
• for surveyors described as "independent", a written confirmation that they don't sell or earn from the remedial work they recommend

Where we haven't been able to verify something, we say so.

Reviews

We don't write, buy or filter reviews. Where we mention reviews, we link to where they're published.

Corrections

If anything about your business, or anything on this site, is wrong, email hello@fairquoteessex.co.uk and we'll look at it promptly. Listed businesses can ask to be removed.
